Man charged with Brighton rape

Detectives investigating the rape of a 25-year-old woman in Ship Street, Brighton, on Tuesday, January 15, have arrested and charged a man with the offence.

Mahad Hussein, 22, unemployed, of Copenhagen Place, Tower Hamlets, London, has been charged with two counts of raping a woman 16 years of age or over.

He appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (January 22) and was remanded in custody to next appear at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday, February 19.
