LONDON, 13th October 2026 - The 2026 PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) Season 2 kicks off next week in Lahore, Pakistan, marking the country’s first official global PUBG MOBILE Esports event. Open to teams worldwide, in line with PUBG MOBILE Esports’ commitment to a fair and accessible competitive ecosystem, the event will see 32 teams battle from 20th–25th of October for the lion’s share of the $500,000 prize pool and a place at the 2026 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) in Istanbul, Turkey. Ahead of the Group Stage, PUBG MOBILE Esports has announced several format additions set to shake up the action.

2026 PMGO Season 2 brings 32 teams together in this multi-stage tournament across Rondo, Erangel, and Miramar. In the Group Stage, teams are split into two groups of 16 playing six matches each, with Group A competing on the 20th, and Group B on the 21st. The top six scoring teams in each group will fasttrack to the Grand Finals, whilst those placed in 7th-14th in each group will progress to the Survival Stage, a six match shootout to decide the final four slots in the Grand Finals. For the remaining four teams, their journeys will end in the Group Stage.

One of the first format changes introduced to the 2026 PMGO Season 2 takes place in the Group Stage and Survival Stage. Any points tie to decide a qualification spot will be settled by a best-of-three 4v4 Team Deathmatch on the map Warehouse. The winner in each match is the first team to secure 15 eliminations, or the team with the most eliminations before the timer ends. If the round ends in a draw, the team to make the last elimination will secure the win.

Once all teams under the updated structure have been confirmed, the Grand Finals will commence with a dramatic face-off between the final 16 teams, where only one will reign victorious and secure a massive 150 PMGC points. These points, earned and accumulated throughout the 2026 PUBG MOBILE Esports circuit, will determine whether they are guaranteed a place at the 2026 PMGC later this year.

Day 1 of the Grand Finals will follow the same six match structure as the Group Stage and Survival Stage, while Day 2 brings a new twist. Before Match 7, a themed-map showmatch will take place, with the winner earning the right to ban one of three map options for the all new Match 13, introduced to increase the likelihood of the title being decided by a WWCD. Match 13 only takes place if no team has already been crowned under SMASH rules. In this scenario, the leading team after Match 12 will pick between the remaining two map options for Match 13. These format changes emphasise PUBG MOBILE Esports’ goal of creating a highly competitive environment that tests teams’ adaptability and prowess, while providing a thrilling, unpredictable show for fans.
