World of Warships: Legends Celebrates 6th Anniversary with Birthday Content Update

Players can enjoy a brand-new, Legendary campaign with free Admiralty Backing, alongside new ships to celebrate six years at sea and a second wave of ‘Blue Archive’ content

August 11 - Wargaming, the developer and publisher of the leading historically accurate, naval multiplayer game for console World of Warships: Legends, is celebrating six years on the Seven Seas with a special anniversary update. Kicking off the birthday festivities are two new Premium cruisers, a special Bureau project and a three-week Birthday Mayhem Calendar, packed with rewards. The historic update also features the game’s first-ever campaign with free Admiralty Backing to unlock one of two Premium Tier VIII ships, a second wave of ‘Blue Archive’ content, and quality of life improvements for players to enjoy.

Party Around the World Campaign with Free Admiralty Backing

The first-ever campaign with a completely free Admiralty Backing is here! Following the classic Legendary campaign format, players can work through 100 milestones to unlock special rewards. Waiting at the end are two ships to select from, Japanese Tier VIII Premium destroyer Minegumo or Pan-European Tier VIII Premium battleship Niord. Once selected, the remaining unchosen ship will be available for purchase with doubloons post-campaign.

New and limited time only ‘Blue Archive’ theme content available from Aug 11th to Sep 8th

World of Warships: Legends welcomes back ‘Blue Archive’ for its second wave! Available from August 11 until September 8, players can expand their armadas with three new ships–Tier VIII Premium French cruiser BA Utnapishtim's Ship, Tier VI Premium Italian battleship BA Binah, and Tier VII Premium Soviet battleship BA Hovercraft. Also joining the game and ready to lead these ships into battle are three new Commanders, Hayase Yuuka, Konuri Maki, and Kosaka Wakamo, each featuring their own unique voiceover. Fans can get hands-on with these new additions, alongside the previous wave of ‘Blue Archive’ content, in the Store and through ‘Blue Archive’ II Containers.

Legend’s Birthday Brings New Ships, Calendar, and special Bureau project

To celebrate six years of Legendary action, players can undertake a number of in-game activities to earn a special event currency, Piñatitas. These Piñatitas can be exchanged for a range of birthday-themed items and rewards, including two new ships: Pan-Asian Tier VII Premium cruiser Irian and British Tier V Premium cruiser Dido.

The Birthday Mayhem Calendar also arrives to the game, featuring three weeks worth of rewards, alongside a special Bureau project granting players access to items from popular past events including Halloween, New Year, and Black Friday.

Visual improvements and additional console support

Beyond birthday celebrations, this update introduces a host of cosmetic improvements in select areas across scenery, weather, lighting, and water effects, for an enhanced visual experience. Additionally, PlayStation 5 users can now enjoy 4K 60 FPS support on console, with Ray Tracing available for PlayStation 5 Pro users too.
