Coffee Stain Announces New Indie Game Showcase – The Big Break

The Valheim publisher asked themselves how hard could it be to run a games showcase. Turns out: really hard, actually. It's happening anyway, September 29th.

Stockholm, Sweden, September 16th, 2026 - Today, Coffee Stain revealed The Big Break Showcase, a new digital showcase built around a simple idea and a frankly unearned amount of confidence: use the reach of established successful indie studios and publishers to give unpublished and emerging developers the kind of stage that's increasingly hard to come by.

Premiering September 29th on YouTube and co-streamed by IGN, the show features big new announcements from Deep Rock Galactic, Goat Simulator, Lightyear Frontier, Teardown and Satisfactory – alongside new indie game reveals and news and updates from our friends at other indie publishers. Viewers can tune in on YouTube, on September 29th at 18:00 BST/ 19:00 CEST / 10:00 AM PDT / 1:00 PM EDT.

Coffee Stain was built on silly ideas and audacity, so bringing that mentality into the games-showcase space was an (unfortunately) inescapable inevitability. With hundreds of games hitting storefronts every week, discoverability has become one of the biggest challenges facing new studios. So some of the industry's most-loved studios decided to band together and pay it forward, lending their audiences to new developers taking their first step – while also, conveniently, promoting their own biggest upcoming launches. Wow! Everybody wins, huh?

It started, in the words of its creators, with no plan and the wild ambition of a few caffeine-enriched squirrels. Somehow it became a real show. We’re as surprised as anyone.
