Crimson Desert Gets Cross-Save & Wins Best Technical Innovation at the Develop:Star Awards
Latest update lets players carry one save across PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store
AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands — July 16, 2026 — Pearl Abyss today announced that Cross-Save is now available in Crimson Desert, the studio's open-world action-adventure game. With the latest update, players can continue their adventure across PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store using shared saves, whether on console or PC.
By creating and linking their accounts, players can pick up exactly where they left off on supported platform, with progression and story state carried over seamlessly between devices. Full details on setting up Cross-Save, including account set up instructions, are available at here
Additionally, Crimson Desert has recently won the Best Technical Innovation award at the Develop:Star Awards.
The Best Technical Innovation category recognizes exceptional innovation across video game software, hardware and engines that demonstrates a significant contribution to the advancement of the industry through original technologies and innovative approaches.
Crimson Desert received the award after being shortlisted alongside titles and technologies including Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, DOOM: The Dark Ages and Ghost of Yōtei.
The award recognized Pearl Abyss’ proprietary BlackSpace Engine as a significant technical achievement in game technology. Developed specifically to realize the vision of Crimson Desert, the next-generation engine enables the game’s vast, seamless open world without compromising its visual fidelity or immersive gameplay experience.
