ESL FACEIT Group reveals Intel® Extreme Masters is heading to Chengdu, China, in April 2024
Playoffs on April 12 - 14, 2024, to take place live at Wuliangye Chengdu Performing Arts Centre, with the ticket sale starting in Q1 of 2024

Monday, January 15, 2024, Cologne/New York/Chengdu – ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), the leading esports and video game entertainment company, today revealed that Intel® Extreme Masters (IEM) is heading to Chengdu, China, on April 8 - 14, 2024. During the final three days of the ESL Pro Tour (EPT) Masters competition, fans can look forward to experiencing the action live at Wuliangye Chengdu Performing Arts Centre.

Commencing April 8, top Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) teams from around the globe will battle it out in two groups of eight, during the three-day-long Group Stage. At stake are a share of the $250,000 total prize pool and one of six spots in the Playoffs.
On April 12 - 14, the top six teams will then go head to head live in front of their fans at Wuliangye Chengdu Performing Arts Centre, with the top team guaranteeing themselves a ticket to the IEM Cologne 2024 Group Stage, and adding a win in the race to securing the Intel® Grand Slam V and it’s $1,000,000 cash prize.
IEM Chengdu 2024 will feature 16 teams, including Astralis, Cloud9, Complexity, FaZe Clan, FURIA Esports, G2 Esports, HEROIC, Monte, MOUZ, and Virtus.pro. These teams will be joined by Lynn Vision Gaming – the winner of the Chinese Closed Qualifier which took place in front of an intimate live audience in Shanghai, China, on November 3 - 4, 2023.
The remaining five teams will be determined via a set of regional Open and Closed Qualifiers taking place online on FACEIT between January 15 and February 10. The winning team from each region – Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Oceania – guarantees their spot in IEM Chengdu 2024. Tickets will go on sale in Q1 of this year. Stay tuned as the exact ticket sale date, as well as ticket types and prices, will be revealed at a later time.
