FLASK Debuts First Playable Demo with Enhanced Alchemy Systems

Available from the publishers of Deep Rock Galactic, aspiring alchemists can get their hands on the autobattler for the very first time

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, July 2nd, 2026 – Today, Ghost Ship Publishing and developer Chop Chop Games are excited to announce that FLASK's first playable demo is now available on Steam. The roguelike deckbuilder sees players take on the role of an indebted alchemist traversing a post-war medieval landscape. To pay off the mortgage on their tower, they use powerful concoctions and homunculi soldiers to harvest the new-world currency – goblin blood.

Following the title’s reveal at Gamescom 2025, this demo showcases significant gameplay evolution, including streamlined flask collection, embellished game environments, and a brand new playable homunculus soldier. The demo introduces publicly available gameplay for the first time, enabling players to experience the dark fantasy world crafted by legendary artist John Kenn Mortensen through battle after bloody battle.

Into the Bloodharvest: New Features in FLASK

  • Fast-Track a Goblin-Slaying Army: Players can now dive in faster than ever, building their squadron from beginner-level to goblin-slaying machines with careful decision-making and a little luck.
  • Explore the Goblin Realm: Closed playtests and consistent new builds since reveal have also made for a visually striking, narrative-rich art style, hand-drawn by renowned Danish artist John Kenn Mortensen.
  • Homunculi Numbers Grow: Bombus the Artificer is a brand-new meat puppet for use in battle, a reckless patchwork inventor whose dangerous experiments unleash a chaotic Heat and Frost combat style.
  • Pass By Other Alchemists: Alongside asynchronous PvP battles against the homunculi ghosts of other players, alchemists can now encounter real, live humans on their travels.

The demo traverses through the full game, barring metaprogression, achievements, unlocks and the final world. However, players can experience Normal, Hard, Insane, and online ranked mode, giving them a substantial taste of FLASK's dark medieval world before launch.

“Since Gamescom, we've been overwhelmed by the community's enthusiasm for FLASK's unique blend of macabre atmosphere and deep strategic gameplay,” said Dario Rahimic, co-founder of Chop Chop Games. “This demo represents months of refinement based on internal testing and community feedback. We've made sure all players can step right into our goblin-infested world, with a steadily strengthening homunculi army, using countless alchemical combinations. We can't wait to see how players break our carefully balanced systems – that's when we know we've succeeded.”

The FLASK demo is available now on Steam for PC and Mac. Players can wishlist the game and join the official Discord to provide feedback directly to the development team. The press kit is here.
