STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, 26 August 2026 — Today, indie publisher Three Friends and Swedish studio Bloom & Gloom unveiled a brand-new developer-guided gameplay trailer for their cosy adventure title Into the Wind during Future Games Show: Gamescom, alongside news of the game's first public playtest. Following its warmly received reveal at June's PC Gaming Show and subsequent inclusion in the Wholesome Games Steam Celebration, the latest preview offers players their most in-depth look at the journey awaiting them across the gorgeous Adriatic archipelago of Santa Rosa.
Narrated by Bloom & Gloom Co-Founder and Game Director Robin Hjelte, the new gameplay preview follows a complete delivery from start to finish, showcasing the satisfying gameplay loop at the heart of Into the Wind. Players must carefully choose contracts and plan routes around changing weather, wayward air pirates, and challenging terrain before upgrading their sentient motorcycle-plane companion, Ermes, to unlock new opportunities and adventures. Alongside never-before-seen gameplay, the preview also reveals new character customisation options and offers an extended look at the game's breathtaking Studio Ghibli-inspired world.
Players can soon be among the first to experience Into the Wind by signing up for the game's first public Steam playtest, which will open later this year and offer an early look at a selection of Into the Wind’s features:
- Deliver parcels and take on contracts as you become the local courier in your uncle Umberto’s stead. Players will face changing weather, challenging terrain, and content with air pirates on their journeys around the archipelago.
- Upgrade Ermes as you unlock new resources for each job completed. Customise your motorcycle-plane companion’s capabilities, allowing you to take on more challenging deliveries and adventures.
- Experience vehicle inertia and immersion, where cargo has weight and fuel matters. Discover how factors like terrain, shortcuts, weather, and landings can all affect handling and how the roads and skies of Santa Rosa truly feel.
- Explore Santa Rosa as you cruise around this Studio Ghibli-inspired world and meet the charming townspeople, enjoy glorious vistas and experience these Adriatic magical islands.

“We're incredibly excited to finally see players take to the skies of Santa Rosa for themselves,” says Robin, co-founder and game director of Bloom & Gloom. “Our new gameplay preview gives players an in-depth look at the adventure, but now we can't wait to get the game into their hands. We need players' help to make Into the Wind the best it can be, and we're looking forward to hearing their feedback as we continue towards Early Access.”
In Into the Wind, players inherit their missing uncle Umberto's delivery business and set out to uncover the mystery surrounding his disappearance. Along the way, they'll build relationships with the colourful residents of Santa Rosa, customise their character, home and motorcycle, battle troublesome air pirates, and discover the freedom of life among the clouds in a heartfelt adventure inspired by the joy of the journey itself.
Into the Wind is currently in development for PC, with an Early Access release date yet to be announced. Players can wishlist the game and register their interest in the upcoming Steam Playtest here, and join the official Discord here. Assets can be found here.
