TORONTO, CANADA - August 11th, 2026: Today, Torn Banner Studios and Green Man Gaming are thrilled to announce that No More Room in Hell 2 has officially exited Early Access, launching a global 1.0 release across PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

To celebrate the launch, limited-time promotional offers are available across all platforms. Players can acquire the 8-player co-op horror title (RRP £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99) at 35% off via Steam and the Epic Games Store from 11 to 25 August 2026, and 20% off on the PlayStation Store (PlayStation Plus only) and XBOX Store from 11 to 17 August 2026.

Anchored by No More Room in Hell 2’s Armageddon Update, 1.0 delivers an intense 8-player co-op experience where high-stakes permadeath ensures every encounter with the undead is a fight for survival - and every victory is another step back from the brink of apocalypse. Shaped directly by two years of continuous community feedback, 1.0 drastically expands the sequel through never-before-seen maps, brand-new game modes, and sweeping gameplay refinements built to deliver an unrelenting tactical horror experience where death has consequences.

Designed for total feature parity, the title’s console debut ensures PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players experience the exact same deep survival systems, content updates, and achievements as PC veterans. Cross-play functions connect every Responder worldwide into one massive stand against the undead across PC, Playstation and XBOX - delivering faster matchmaking and allowing squads to team up across any device to hold back the endless horde together.

Backed by a Day 1 global progress reset, the 1.0 release brings veterans and new recruits together on equal footing from launch day. For players stepping into the quarantine zone for the first time, 1.0 eliminates the sink-or-swim frustration of traditional hardcore survival games, adding new interactive tutorials and a smoother Beginner difficulty featuring timed respawns. Absolute newcomers can also take advantage of the newly introduced Solo Mode, where permadeath is turned off and main progression is paused to let players master combat, resource management, and map layouts risk-free.

Crucially, this onboarding comes without softening the nightmare for seasoned players; as higher difficulty tiers have been retuned to be significantly more brutal, ensuring that scarce ammunition, high-stakes permadeath, and unadulterated tactical terror remain firmly available for veterans looking for an uncompromising high-stakes survival challenge.

ROAD TO 1.0: FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS AND LAUNCH UPDATES:

  • New game modes: Complementing the original team-driven Objective Mode, 1.0 brings two additional new ways to survive. Hold the line against unrelenting waves of infected horde-defence in the all-new Survival Mode, or master map layouts and refine survival tactics risk-free in Solo Mode.
  • Expanded maps: Play four new environments, including Flooded, Lighthouse, and a reimagined Night of the Living Dead farmstead in Survival Mode, alongside military bunker Raven Rock in Objective Mode - joining fan-favourite Early Access additions like Broadway and Beaulieu Hospital in the sequel’s largest map roster to date.
  • Interactive onboarding: New recruits can practice survival basics at Responder Doug’s training grounds, before facing the zombie horde.
  • New zombie types: The undead threat evolves with the introduction of new zombie types - including Prime Runners and Army Reserves - adding fresh pressure, unpredictability and combat variety.
  • Combat overhaul: Rebalanced melee and firearm mechanics make tearing through the infected horde more brutal and tactical than ever, backed by dynamic visual damage that leaves visible slash marks and bullet impacts across zombie flesh in real time.
  • Overhauled difficulty tiers:
  • Beginner: Timed respawns for smoother onboarding.
  • Normal: Objective-based respawns for tighter co-op coordination.
  • Hard & Nightmare: Retuned to be significantly more punishing.
  • Early Individual Extraction: Cut losses when a run turns fatal whenever more than 50% of the squad perishes, with Dedicated Early Extraction Bunkers unlocking across the map.
  • Character customisation: Enjoy fresh new cosmetic packs and evermore ways to personalise player experiences.
  • Quality-of-life upgrades: Play with a pause-menu "Unstuck" button (relocates players after a 30-second charge), match reconnect, and UI improvements to help players get back into the action with less friction.
  • Merit & assignment systems: Earn Merits (a new, non-purchasable gameplay currency) by completing Weekly Assignments while aiding in humanity’s survival.
  • Engine & Performance Upgrades: Deep optimisations across visual effects and audio - including DLSS 4.5 support with Frame Generation - mean lag-free responsiveness and smoother combat performance when being swarmed by the infected.
  • Cross-platform achievements: Full, native trophy and achievement support is available across all PC and console platforms.
  • Community feedback & bug fixes: Shaped directly by community feedback during Early Access, the full 1.0 version features over 8,000 bug fixes and performance optimisations implemented for launch.

“Bringing No More Room In Hell 2 to 1.0 has been the culmination of unyielding passion and teamwork between our studio and our community,” says Steve Piggott, CEO & Creative Director at Torn Banner Studios. “Working side-by-side with our Early Access community has allowed us to refine this sequel into a modern co-op horror nightmare, preserving its hardcore DNA while opening the doors to a brand-new generation of Responders. With Armageddon upon us, we can’t wait to watch our player base grow as veterans and first-time recruits join forces to survive the relentless undead.”

“Console players have been hungry for a co-op horror title that delivers true tension and real consequences, making this launch the perfect antidote to typical arcade horde-shooters,” says Chris Jones, EVP of Publishing at Green Man Gaming. “Bringing No More Room In Hell 2 to console players, complete with full feature parity and cross play, is a massive milestone - and we are thrilled to watch squads across every platform experience high-stakes survival horror together.”
