Press release —
‘PHASMOPHOBIA BY ALAN WAKE’ EVENT NOW LIVE
With four map revamps, two new player character skins, and limited-time community goals, the Dark Place haunts Phasmophobia for three weeks
Southampton, UK – May 12th, 2026 - Today, Kinetic Games and Remedy Entertainment have launched ‘Phasmophobia by Alan Wake’, a three-week-long collaboration event! The two iconic horror titles have merged, bringing iconic Alan Wake 2 locations to Phasmophobia alongside character skins, community challenges, and more as a free update on all platforms.
Announced at the Galaxies Showcase on April 16, this collaboration is the first of its kind for Phasmophobia. Four of the game’s maps have been reimagined including Nell’s Diner, the Grafton and Bleasdale Farmhouses, and Camp Woodwind. As players explore, they'll be challenged to search for pages of Alan's writing – written for Phasmophobia by Remedy Entertainment Creative Director, Sam Lake.
Players can now also permanently unlock character skins through in-game challenges for novelist Alan Wake and FBI agent Saga Anderson, with all-new animations following Phasmophobia’s Player Character Update launched on May 5th.
“It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with such an iconic title for our first collaboration,” said Daniel Knight, CEO and Game Director at Kinetic Games. “We’re big fans of the Alan Wake franchise, and knew it would fit perfectly with Phasmophobia. We can’t wait for our ghost hunters to jump in today and experience a small piece of the Dark Place in our game, and we can't thank Remedy Entertainment enough for allowing us to create one of the most exciting in-game events for Phasmophobia yet."
“It’s an honor and joy for us to collaborate with the Phasmophobia team in this event. Our two franchises complement each other perfectly. A word of caution to all the potential ghost hunters out there, if you choose to enter, you might never be able to leave the Dark Place. You have been warned.” Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment
The 'Phasmophobia by Alan Wake' event is live from today until June 2nd on all platforms.
Phasmophobia is available in Early Access on PC via Steam, PS5, PS VR2, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $19.99/£16.75/€19.50. Check out the Phasmophobia 2026 Roadmap for more info on what’s to come this year.
