RUBBER HOSE “HOPEFULLY-ONE-DAY-IN-THE-NOT-TOO-DISTANT-FUTURE-AWARD-WINNING-MEGA-HIT-TO-BE” INTO THE UNWELL FACES EXCITING DELAY!

In a display of record breaking decisiveness, development of Into the Unwell has been expanded into a full game release in 2027

Stockholm, Sweden, May 18th, 2026 — Coffee Stain Publishing and developer She Was Such A Good Horse is proud to announce that "Into the Unwell”, the roguelike action “five-star-generational-indie-smash-hit-to-be”, will be delayed to 2027! Following a cartoonishly hilarious accident involving drink cans and bubblegum, the action roguelite about heavily medicated misfits is moving away from its 2026 Early Access launch, and into a full release coming next year.

For the full story, watch this new documentary trailer.

The documentary trailer shows it all – the dream, the drinks, the Våffeldagen disaster, and a sneak peek of what's coming next. By working towards a full launch in 2027, Into the Unwell has time to finish brewing, and Coffee Stain Publishing has time to work out where exactly this additional investment is going*.

“Våffeldagen is one of the most important holidays in Sweden. But since we're not that great at cleaning, I tripped on the massive pile of beer cans left after the festivities, smashing the Early Access disc in the fall.” said Mårten Stockhaus, Creative Director on Into The Unwell. “The good news is that Coffee Stain is paying us to glue the disc back together! Also, I’m fine by the way, thanks for asking. So anyway, full release sometime in 2027. Like every dev crew running on dreams and a healthy amount of audacity, we’re hell-bent on dropping a full game that’s as good as we can possibly make it when we actually launch."

“Throwing more money at Into The Unwell makes total business sense for Coffee Stain. By doing so we stick to our long and proud tradition of investing in games featuring weird animals. It mostly hasn’t backfired.” said Anton Westbergh, CEO of Coffee Stain Group.

*It’s going to go on beer.
