Tokoname, September 29th, 2026 - The 2026 Asian Games Esports Finals: PUBG MOBILE Asian Games Version has concluded, with Team Thailand emerging as the Gold medallist after two days of fierce battle royale competition at the 20th Asian Games Esports Events in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. A dominant victory marks Thailand’s first podium in PUBG MOBILE Esports, stamping their place in the Asian Games history books forever.

The Finals, held at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, featured 12 of the world’s best teams, four of which - hosts Japan, plus 2022 Hangzhou medallists China, Republic of Korea, and Chinese Taipei - were playing their first games after automatically qualifying. The remaining teams made it to Aichi-Nagoya through the gruelling 2026 Asian Games Esports Qualifiers: PUBG MOBILE Asian Games Version, which took place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in June. From 23 teams that entered the Qualifiers Finals, just eight survived, led by a dominant Team Pakistan who hoped to bring this fantastic form to the main event.

Day 1 of the Finals kicked off with a bang, as 2022 Hangzhou Gold medallists Team China raced to a 10 elimination, 20 point WWCD on Erangel. However, Team Thailand put in an astounding run, taking two wins and two second place finishes from the remaining five matches on Day 1. This meant they led the standings on 75 points after a grueling day’s play, taking an impressive 13 eliminations in their Match 6 win on Miramar. China followed on 61 points, with Team Indonesia rounding out the top three on 55 points, securing one Chicken Dinner along the way. Vietnam also had a strong Day 1, taking back-to-back wins in Matches 4 and 5 on the way to a fourth place finish with 51 points.

The final day saw plenty of action up and down the standings, with six different teams securing Chicken Dinners across the six matches. This included a brilliant 12 elimination victory for Team Jordan in Match 9 on Erangel, whilst home favourites Japan secured a win in the penultimate match on Miramar, as they battled to a 9th place finish overall. However, nobody could deny Team Thailand, who followed up their imperious Day 1 performance with steadiness on Day 2, taking one Chicken Dinner in Match 8 to prevail with a grand total of 128 points, securing a coveted Asian Games Gold medal. China held out to take the Silver medal on 114 points, whilst a standout 61 point performance by Qualifiers Finals winners Team Pakistan propelled them up the standings to take Bronze on 100 points. Indonesia and Vietnam narrowly missed out on the medal places with 95 points each.

With that, the curtain falls on the 2026 Asian Games Esports Finals: PUBG MOBILE Asian Games Version, a tournament which represents a major milestone for a number of reasons. PUBG MOBILE Esports was the most widely represented esports title at the Asian Games, with 27 NOC teams competing across the Qualifiers Finals and Finals, demonstrating extensive regional reach and accessibility for anyone from any part of the world to compete for glory.
