Songs of Conquest Yulan Faction DLC Launches June 4th on PC

The next long-awaited faction expansion will bring new strategic choices, narrative content, and a fully realised new region

Gothenburg, Sweden – May 8th 2026 – Swedish developer Lavapotion today confirmed that Yulan, the next Faction DLC for Songs of Conquest, will launch on PC via Steam on June 4th. First revealed earlier this year, Yulan introduces players to the long-isolated region of Aerbor, a land shaped by internal rivalry and fragile alliances. With its release date in sight, players will soon be able to step foot into a faction built around the competing philosophies of three powerful houses.

A Faction Defined by Choice
At the core of Yulan is a new approach to army-building and progression, where players can pledge allegiance to any of the three houses – Li, Sheng, or Xuan – each representing a different aspect of Essence: Order, Creation, or Arcana. This allegiance impacts how armies evolve, with units offering branching upgrades that shift their role and strengths depending on the house they serve. Players can choose to mix their essence by aligning with multiple houses, too, adding another layer of depth to the gameplay.

New Units and Synergies
This expansion adds eight new units to the game with more upgrade options than ever before – from explosive-wielding Grenadiers and disciplined Conscripts to the mystical Tian and the unpredictable Seekers, Yulan’s new roster is built around transformation. Several units can evolve into different forms, encouraging experimentation and replayability as players explore each house’s potential.

A Story of Reconnection
Yulan’s arrival also brings a new narrative campaign, following the House of Sheng as their divided homeland faces both new and ancient threats. Spanning three maps, the Tale explores what happens when isolation ends, and whether old divisions can survive the truths that follow.

New Battlefields to Conquer
Five new Conquest maps accompany the DLC, each designed to highlight Yulan’s mechanics and identity. These scenarios range from internal power struggles between the houses to external threats pressing on Yulan’s borders.

The new biome introduces a visually distinct region to Aerbor, blending serene landscapes with underlying tension, where beauty and danger exist side by side.

The Yulan DLC is scheduled to release on June 4th, and is available to wishlist now on Steam. You can find the official press kit assets here, and more information on the official Songs of Conquest website and by following the game on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
