The following statistics were released today by the Department of Health:
Diagnostics waiting times & activity data, month ending 31 March 2010.
The monthly data published today gives the waiting times for 15 key diagnostic tests carried out in the NHS.

Main findings this month
· The number of patients, for whom English commissioners are responsible, waiting over 6 weeks for any one of the 15 key diagnostics tests at the end of March 2010 was 3,700, an increase of 200 (4.4%) from February 2010, and an increase of 800 (27.4 %) from March 2009.
· Of the patients waiting at the end of March 2010, 99.3% had been waiting under 6 weeks, unchanged from February 2010, and compared to 99.4% in March 2009.
