Labour Party: Ed Miliband's Chanukah message

Ed Miliband, Leader of the Labour Party, today said:

Chanukah is a special time for the Jewish community in Britain and for Jews all over the world. 

The festival of lights is a chance to gather with friends and family, in homes and in synagogues, around the candles of the menorah. It is a time to reflect on the potential for hope and resilience to triumph over fear.

Chanukah is also an opportunity for everybody to celebrate the values of Judaism – values of dedication, justice, compassion and humility.

I would like to send all best wishes to British Jews for a happy Chanukah this week, from my family to yours, and to the millions of people all over the world enjoying this ancient and enduring holiday.
