KAYAK: Friday the 13th - lucky for some

Travel search site KAYAK today reveals that if superstitions can be overcome, Brits could save a fifth on flights this Friday 13th.

The site, which searches hundreds of travel sites at once, reveals that the average flight cost on Friday 13th May is 20.4 per cent cheaper that the average cost across the rest of the month.

Annie Wilson, UK Managing Director for KAYAK says: “Everyone can be slightly superstitious; perhaps being cautious about walking under ladders or feeling nervous if an umbrella is opened inside - but Friday the thirteenth can bring out doubts in even the most rational. If however, the superstitions are overcome, British holidaymakers could find themselves a bargain!”
