The UK’s leading online travel agent On the Beach is delighted to announce the launch of the coolest and most essential travel app of the year – Beach Locator.

Beach Locator provides access to more than 1000 beaches across Europe and the Med and is packed with up to date information.

Holidaymakers become locals with this unique iPhone app directing them straight to the best beach spots. Using GPS, Beach Locator will find the closest beach and users can discover the distance, sand type, wave information and beach amenities. Beach Locator will also suggest whether the chosen beach is suitable for families, couples, surfers and even nudists.

Users can store their favourite beaches for the next holiday and rate and review those they have experienced. Tips on the best places to snorkel, fish, play sports or simply sunbathe in peace will all be available at the users fingertips. 

The unique iPhone App also recommends local excursions, nearby attractions and the best restaurants, cafes and clubs close to the chosen beach, plus much more. 

Today, Beach Locator covers more than 80% of On the Beach destinations with essential information on more than 1000 beaches. Destinations covered today include Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Portugal, Turkey, Spain and the Canary and Balearic Islands. 

On the Beach is working hard to expand the destinations available, with Beach Locator 2 expected later in the year. Beach Locator will also be available for Android devices before the summer.
