A fresh take on kitchen architecture: Villeroy & Boch presents the Subway Flat/o at Area 30
The kitchen has long since evolved from a simple place for cooking into a showcase for design, lifestyle and personal expression. With the Subway Flat/o, Villeroy & Boch is taking the concept a step further and turning the kitchen sink into an architectural highlight with a streamlined, flush-fitting design with no tap hole bench that creates a seamless fusion of countertop and sink. The new arrival is making its debut at the Area30 kitchen trade fair and is setting standards for minimalist kitchen design.
A response to a growing trend
Characterised by clear lines, fine materials and streamlined shapes, the trend for minimalist kitchen architecture with ceramic, natural stone or granite countertops is as strong as ever. The Subway Flat/o is a perfect partner: the tap is installed directly in the countertop which eliminates the need for a tap hole in the sink. The result is a seamless and elegant fusion of sink and work surface – pure aesthetics that impress.
Design meets functionality
The flush-fitting design not only looks impressive, it also provides practical assistance with everyday tasks: crumbs and water can simply be wiped straight from the work surface into the sink. The absence of a tap hole bench also increases the overall surface space in the kitchen for a tidy and organised look and greater comfort for daily routines.
The first of its kind in the Subway family
As the first flush-fitting sink without a tap hole bench, the Subway Flat/o adds a completely new facet to the established Subway collection – and provides even greater creative scope to turn dream kitchens into reality. From a compact city kitchen to a spacious open-plan cooking area – three sizes ranging from 45 to 60 cm for the most common unit widths ensure a perfect fit for every concept. Nine timeless colours that harmonise in every countertop, blend into every kitchen style and coordinate with every tap further extend the selection. The range is rounded off by sophisticated accessories that add extra comfort to everyday kitchen routines.
