Ideal Standard Expands Alu+ with First Aluminium Taps, a New Square Design, and a Bold Brushed Bronze Finish
Sustainable innovation meets contemporary design in the latest Alu+ range extensions. Ideal Standard is expanding its Alu+ collection with its first taps made from aluminium, a striking new brushed bronze finish, and a sleek square design variation for its shower systems. Alu+ stands out for its combination of modern aesthetics and eco-conscious engineering, featuring products made from high-recycled-content aluminium, free from chrome and nickel, and designed to reduce water and energy consumption. These latest additions further enhance the collection’s commitment to sustainability while offering even more choice for contemporary bathroom design.
A New Square Design for Alu+ Shower Systems
Ideal Standard is introducing a square shape for its Alu+ shower systems, offering a fresh, modern look alongside the existing round design. Available with thermostatic, single-lever, and diverter options, these systems provide f lexibility while maintaining Alu+’s signature sustainable approach. Manufactured from 84% recycled aluminium and completely chrome- and nickel-free, they feature flow regulators that limit water consumption to 12 litres per minute for the head shower and 8 litres per minute for the hand shower, with additional low flow options available at 8 litres for the head and 6 litres for the hand shower.
An Elegant New Brushed Bronze Finish
Renowned for its distinctive colour palette, Alu+ now includes a brushed bronze finish, adding a refined, contemporary touch to modern bathrooms. This new addition complements the existing silk black, silver, and rosé finishes, offering designers and homeowners greater creative freedom while maintaining a commitment to sustainability.
Industry-first Aluminium Taps
For the first time, Alu+ expands beyond shower systems and beauty bars with a matching range of basin and bidet mixer taps – the first in the bathroom industry to be made from up to 75% recycled aluminium. These taps combine sustainability with high performance, featuring a maximum water consumption of just 3.8 l/min, FirmaFlow®+ cartridge technology for long-lasting durability, and BlueStart technology for energy efficiency. IdealBlue technology ensures water never comes into contact with metal, while a matching click-waste and a coin-slot aerator enhance both aesthetics and ease of maintenance.
“Alu+ is about more than just style; it’s about smart, sustainable innovation,” said Sven Ullrich, Executive Vice President Marketing, Product Management and R&D at Villeroy & Boch. “With the new square design, brushed bronze f inish, and matching taps, we’re giving designers and homeowners even more choice to create beautiful, future-proofed spaces.”
The expanded Alu+ range is being unveiled exclusively at ISH Frankfurt from March 17 to 21. The square shower systems will launch in July 2025, with the new taps and brushed bronze finish available in winter 2025.
