Press release -
The Dowling Poole play Huddersfield, Glasgow and Manchester
The first three full band gigs in May with The Dowling Poole were a tremendous success, culminating in an extraordinarily joyful show in London at The Borderline.
"It was genuinely beyond our wildest expectations. All five of us were shocked, and thrilled - in that order", says Jon Poole who makes up The Dowling Poole with song writing partner Willie Dowling.
The concerts received great reviews, including Get Ready To Rock calling The Borderline gig 'A truly stunning night of pop rock'.
Willie Dowling comments:
"We are so happy with the last three gigs and the tremendous reception we were given, and inevitably, like the gannet musicians we are, we of course want more. So we're coming out again, and this time, we focus on our friends in the North of the islands".
The Dowling Poole play Huddersfield, The Parish 30 June, Glasgow, Audio 2 July and Manchester, Gullivers 3 July.
Supporting in Huddersfield and Manchester is Paul Miro.
Dowling and Poole are joined on stage by Givvi Flynn (vocals and acoustic guitar), Andy Lewis (bass and vocals) and Elliot Vaughan (drums).
"Turns out that we are a great live band and we’re planning to play a lot more gigs in the future", says Willie Dowling, somewhat immodestly.

The Dowling Poole's new album "One Hyde Park" went straight to number 13 in the UK Indie Breakers chart. The single "Rebecca Receiving" has been played on Spotify more than 25 000 times.

About The Dowling Poole
The Dowling Poole is formed by singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Willie Dowling and Jon Poole. Their first album "Bleak Strategies" was a Top 20 Indie album and with Mojo describing it as “A classic British rock album heavy on powerpop smarts 4/5”. Classic Rock magazine hailed the album as “one of the most gorgeously idiosyncratic records to emerge in years 9/10”; and the new release ‘One Hyde Park’ is just as beguiling.
Influenced by pop masters such as XTC, ELO, Blur, 10CC, The Kinks, The Beatles and more, The Dowling Poole – described by The Sun as “an awesome pairing 4.5/5”, have once more created an eclectic and contemporary sounding mix of semi-psychedelic pop, somehow quintessentially British-sounding, laced with harmonies and a multitude of influences from the best of 50 years of rock and popular music.
