CSIC visits PERSEO facilities
URBIOFIN project has immersed in demo activities, currently at full capacity.
This is the case of the bioethylene module of CSIC, which produces this added-value product using the biowaste-based bioethanol from PERSEO Biotechnology demo site.
Two weeks ago, CSIC visited PERSEO to monitor in-situ trials at their facilities, check the latest photo of both teams!

During the meeting held today, 21 January 2022, the URBIOFIN Work Package leaders, PERSEO, URBASER, UNIVERSITY OF VALLADOLID, BIOMASA PENINSULAR, AINIA and ETAM, gave a short but comprehensive update on their work done so far, as well as their future steps.
Experts predict… on transforming biowaste and other agro-industrial residues into renewable fuel
Separation technologies will create a paradigm shift in how we treat agro-industrial residues, from organic waste disposal to biorefineries, according to Professor Piet Lens, an expert in environmental biotechnology from the National University Ireland, Galway and the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, as well as triple Marie Curie fellowship recipient.
“I expect 2022 to see the unlo

European Missions; 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030
Turning waste management into a carbon neutral activity is indeed possible, yet precondition is that all waste management streams work at optimal conditions. This requires that different waste fractions are addressed in a sustainable manner along with almost full recovery of biowaste and proper valorisation of the refuse in the form of refuse-derived fuel.
Wastewater, biological waste and resid
THE FUTURE OF WASTE MANAGEMENT: Τrends, opportunities and challenges for the decade (2021-2030)
Α publication of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA)
According to ISWA, this decade will present a unique opportunity to make positive changes to drive towards the future we want. If we do not, the world will reach the point of no return in terms of global warming, pollution, and degradation of natural resources.
ISWA has an important role to play, as the international asso
