Socially Conscious Musician Malea Releases New Single "HERO" on January 24th

Music Video Release To Follow In February

Los Angeles, CA - January 22, 2019 — On January 24th innovative and accomplished Los Angeles based musician Malea releases a brand new single "HERO." Her extensive and varied background in performance and songwriting has culminated in an emotional new project, as well as a visually stunning new music video in the works.

"This song is about the extraordinary in the ordinary," says Malea about the inspiration for the single. Uplifting lyrics like "anyone can be a hero" are backed by music that inspires and allows the message to shine through. Malea goes on to dedicate "HERO" to "all the people doing amazing things every day, all the people who have helped me and have been my heroes"

"HERO" was written by Malea McGuinness and Elaine Macaluso and performed by Malea McGuinness. The song was produced by Michael Patterson and recorded at Sphere Studios in Los Angeles and NRG Studios in North Hollywood. Listen to "HERO" on Soundcloud and Spotify.

Throughout her career, which has included a year on Broadway in "The King and I" and touring around the United States with many different acts, Malea has always drawn inspiration from the people around her who work tirelessly to support causes she’s passionate about, like stopping animal cruelty and women’s rights. During the time she was touring, Malea raised money for Humane Societies across the US. Her passion for animal rights has led her to volunteer her time with multiple organizations. She is a proud supporter of Jane Goodall, NRDC, Planned Parenthood, and Wolf Connection.

The video for "HERO" is set for release in mid-February, and will be available on YouTube and Malea’s website. She continues to write and record new music and use her platform to speak out about the causes that are most important to her.
