Crusader Kings the Board Game raising close to $400 000 on Kickstarter – with one week to go!

With one week left of the Kickstarter, Free League Publishing's board game kickstarter Crusader Kings has been a huge success and raised close to $400 000 from thousands of backers across the world. It is time to brace yourself, the backstabbing and intrigue of medieval Europe is being brought to life in the real world.

Free League Publishing and Paradox Interactive announced the kickstarter to bring the award-winning computer game Crusader Kings to life as a tabletop board game during PDXCon.

The crowdfunding campaign ends Tuesday, June 19. So far, 15 stretch goals have been unlocked, including several additional miniatures, solo and two-player mode, a brand new scenario as well as the horse Glitterhoof as a Character Card - marryable as a spouse - in the board game.

Crusader Kings the Board Game will capture the strategy of the game and wreak havoc in homes all over the world as it is moved from the computer onwards to the tabletop. Let the people rejoice!

In this medieval strategy soap opera, your King or Queen will need to survive invasions, plots, crusades, and even marriage. Or at least have children, siblings or spouses standing by to take over the throne. Failure to raise a suitable heir could face you with the end of your dynasty. Oh dear!

As a ruler, be shrewd in the realm of diplomacy and make and break alliances with others. Grow your wealth and military power, develop your dominion and partake in the crusades. All the while experiencing events of the strange life of a medieval ruler.

The game is the first board game from Free League Publishing, the development team behind the award-winning tabletop RPGs Tales from the Loop, Coriolis – The Third Horizon and Mutant: Year Zero.
