Construction of New Factory in Serbia Completed

Nidec Corporation (hereafter, "the Company") has completed the construction of a new factory in Novi Sad, Republic of Serbia (hereafter, "Serbia").

1.About the new factory in Serbia

Due to the tightening of environmental regulations in Europe as well as stricter CO2 emission regulations for automobiles in major countries the demand for our in-vehicle motors is expanding. The Company is therefore conducting group production activities to build an efficient supply system in Europe, and the new factory in Serbia will be established as a centralized base for those group production activities. In the future, multiple businesses of group companies are scheduled to expand into the local market. This project is in line with the "West Balkan Cooperation Initiative" that the Government of Japan is working on in Serbia and other regions, and it has received a tremendous support from both the governments of Japan and Serbia.

Nidec Electric Motor Serbia, which has just completed the construction of its factory, is planning mass production of automotive motors in 2023. In preparation for the start of the mass production, Nidec Electric Motor Serbia will increase its recruitment activities, mainly for technical positions and thus contribute to the local economy in the Novi Sad area.
