  • Nidec Completed Acquisition of Roboteq, Inc.

    Nidec Corporation today announced that the company completed the acquisition of 90% ownership of Roboteq Inc., a U.S.-based designer of ultra-low voltage (ULV) drives, from its owners through Nidec Motor Corporation.

  • OMRON Automotive Electronics Becomes Part of the Nidec Group

    OMRON Automotive Electronics has become part of the Nidec group under the new name Nidec Mobility. Moving forward, the company will work closely with Nidec’s automotive motor business unit to develop new modules and systems that combine the motors, pumps, gears, etc. of the Nidec group with the electronic control units, and other electronic components, of Nidec Mobility.

    Nidec Corporation (TSE: 6594; OTC US: NJDCY) (the “Company” or “Nidec”) announced today that two Nidec subsidiaries, Nidec Europe B.V. and Nidec Americas Holding Corporation will sell Nidec’s entire compressor business, Secop, to ESSVP IV L.P., ESSVP IV (Structured) L.P., and Silenos GmbH & Co. KG (collectively “ESSVP IV”), advised by Orlando Management AG (“the Transaction”).

    Nidec Corporation announced today that its Board of Directors has approved a resolution to acquire OMRON Automotive Electronics Co. Ltd. from OMRON Corporation. Through the Transaction, the Company will be able to create new module and systems products by combining Nidec's and OMRON Automotive Electronics’ products.

  • Nidec Announces In-Wheel Motor Prototype for Electric Vehicles

    Following last year's reveal of Nidec's fully integrated traction motor system E-Axle and the announcement that the product will be adopted by the Aion S super e-car slated to appear on the Chinese market in May 2019, the company now presents a prototype of a new addition to its lineup of motors powering electric vehicles: a traction motor designed to be fitted inside the wheel hubs.
