Online guitar game enables guitar teachers to to turn their into gamified online guitar lessons easily

SAN FRANCISCO – (14th August, 2013) – Ovelin ltd. announced today the release of “Song Challenges” for GuitarBots (www.guitarbots.com), the social guitar game played online with a real guitar. Forget practice with just online videos, lesson books or dvd’s - With the “Song Challenges” feature it is easy for anyone to create, upload and share guitar exercises and to turn them into game-like online lessons. What makes this different from backing tracks or online video lessons is the fact that  the game actually listens to what is played on a real guitar and evaluates your performance as you play, in real time.

Learning guitar online by your self or even with a teacher can be challenging. In particular, it is difficult for both beginners and advanced guitar players to stay motivated to practice. The reason for this is the lack of feedback – when a teacher is present, the interaction and guidance make learning more interesting and rewarding. This interactive aspect is now made possible and easy to achieve with the new Song Challenges feature in GuitarBots. With just a few mouse clicks, this feature turns your existing tablature files into fully interactive game levels that can be played online, with a real guitar and shared with other guitar players for practice.

The released “Song Challenges” creates an interesting opportunity for teachers and online guitarists to build relationships with their guitar playing audience in practice with their content. “We have been running projects with different teachers and educational institutions”, said Christop Thür, the CEO and co-founder of Ovelin ltd, the company that develops GuitarBots.  “We have been overwhelmed with the creativity and passion they put into exercises, and have gotten an amazing response from the players on this content. We wanted to make it possible for more people to share their exciting material easily with others.”

GuitarBots has previously featured a lesson package by a talented, known guitarists and online tutor Mika Tyyskä (Mr.Fastfinger), which was received with excitement and praise. With the release of the new “Song Challenges” sharing feature, GuitarBots this time features an advanced guitar course called “Robot Shredding” by Jamplay.com featured guitar tutor Allen “Robot” Van Wert, known for his strong technical guitar skills and phenomenal speed picking technique. The new Robot Shredding” song challenge course features 18 advanced song levels for improving finger dexterity, and as a finale, a challenging “Shred Etude” for testing the technical foundation built in the exercise songs.

Song Challenges for GuitarBots is available online 14th August 2013 for Pc and Mac computers, at www.guitarbots.com.
