Free Mobile secures excellent user experience with Polystar's solutions

Polystar T&M, a leading supplier of test solutions, is pleased to announce that their test tool Solver has helped Free Mobile assure the quality of their brand new network. With Solver, Free Mobile was able to verify the capacity, stability, and voice quality of their network before launch.

Free Mobile is a French mobile broadband company and the fourth company to obtain a French national 3G license. In order to be able to test their core network in an easy and efficient way, Free Mobile chose Polystar and the test tool Solver for both feature and load testing.

Solver is a high-performance test tool for mobile telecommunication networks. In this case, Solver provided the ability to simulate an UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN) within a 3G network with a large number of connected mobile subscribers providing load and stress to the Core Network. Solver was also used to simulate SIP messages and User Data traffic towards the Core Network.            

“We were looking for a traffic simulator that allowed us to build a complete scenario like PESQ and handover within only a few minutes of configuration. Solver matched our needs exactly and this fit is even further reinforced by their slogan Testing made easy”, says Core Network Engineer, Enrique Jugon. “In only two days we managed to configure the equipment and make Iu-CS calls, send SMS and generate SIP traffic towards the Core Network”, he continues. “Solver is a smart solution providing thousands of calls and we can monitor how the Core Network reacts. This step is mandatory for us to provide a high quality to our future customers.”

Solver’s advanced testing scenarios can be created immediately and are easily changed with each test cycle. The way Free Mobile is using Solver is a perfect way to proactively assure your users’ experience and discover weaknesses before they affect your customers.


Christophe Chareille from Stellians was involved in securing the deal.
