Corelogic to integrate Scalado software into its future high-end Application Processor

Scalado, the leader in imaging software solutions, has today announced that its Scalado SpeedTags™ technology will be integrated with Corelogic’s future Application Processors (AP), which will be launched for the digital consumer devices markets in Korea and China. Corelogic, Korea’s leading fabless semiconductor manufacturer will use Scalado’s powerful SpeedTags™ solution, which provides accelerated image capture and management for camera phones with its processors in order to deliver enhanced high-quality multi-megapixel mobile imaging and offer the end users the best imaging user experience ever.

Corelogic is a worldwide leader in developing and delivering mobile multimedia solutions. With strong expertise in IC design, Corelogic’s Mobile handset business is focused on camera application processor (CAP), multimedia application processor (MAP), which is the heart of multimedia camera phones, and image signal processor (ISP), which enables mega-pixel class resolution for high quality camera phones – all a perfect match for Scalado.

Integrating our software into Corelogic’s processors enables outstanding results for capturing and viewing images, including zero shutter-lag, burst capturing, auto-panorama capturing, TimeWarp, and other refined and advanced features,” says Fadi Abbas, Co-founder, and CMO/CSO at Scalado.  “This deal will help to increase Scalado’s presence in the Korean and Chinese markets and to expand in digital still camera, digital photo frames, navigation, automotive and other digital imaging markets”

The implementation of SpeedTags into Corelogic’s powerful application processors will support the use of Scalado’s CAPS™ imaging suite, a powerful solution which is focused on providing enhanced functionality to camera phones, whilst also paving the way for further integration with other Corelogic technologies in the future. As a result, users can expect increased performance and data handling capabilities for high resolution files that will dramatically improve the experience of viewing images on a mobile device.

“With Scalado’s imaging technologies Corelogic will make a real impact in the global imaging markets,” says Wookon Koh, VP corporate planning at Corelogic. “We’ve developed our new Application Processors specifically for digital consumer devices, so the addition of Scalado’s mobile technologies will mean that we are able to take the end-user experience to a new level.”

With the benefit of Scalado SpeedTags, end-users can instantly capture multi-megapixel images without any "shutter lag", thereby freezing the exact moment of capture. Until now, only advanced Digital Still Cameras (DSC) and Single Lens Reflex (SLR) cameras have been capable of managing the delay between pressing the capturing button and actually saving the captured image.
