Shazam Appoints Jason Titus as Chief Technology Officer
London, UK – 20 December 2010, Shazam®, the world’s leading mobile discovery provider, announces today that it has appointed Jason Titus as Chief Technology Officer, (CTO).
Titus’s latest role was Vice President - Communications (Mail, Messenger, PIM) at Yahoo! Titus joined the internet giant in 2004 and held a number of key roles in his time there - from building-up the engineering team of Yahoo Mail to eventually leading the entire design, product management/marketing and engineering for Yahoo's flagship communications products portfolio with a user base of over 300 million people. He managed a team of 550 people across the US, India, and China and has experience of leading mobile development teams across a variety of platforms including iPhone, iPad and Android.

Titus has extensive experience in rapid growth start up organisations. In 1997 Titus co-founded iAtlas which he built up and sold to Alta Vista, one of the Internet’s most successful search engines in 1999. Following completion of the acquisition Titus became VP Web Platform Engineering at Alta Vista.
Shazam recently announced that its service had reached the 100 million user milestone and that it is expanding beyond its musical roots to change the way people discover content, purchase products and share their experience using mobile devices with major broadcast networks and brands such as NBC Universal and Levi’s Dockers.
Shazam last month announced the appointment of Evan Krauss as EVP Advertising Sales who was formerly a Managing Director at Yahoo and most recently was SVP of Sales and Business Development at mobile advertising firm Jumptap.
