Kemo Bikes release frame featuring TeXtreme® Technology

Kemo Bikes showcased their new range of road bikes on the Eurobike show in Friedrichshafen, Germany, for the first time. The top of the line frame model KE-R8 5KS is built using TeXtreme® Spread Tow carbon fabrics. By using the TeXtreme® Technology Kemo have realized a bike with excellent properties in stiffness compared to the low weight at 759 grams.

TeXtreme® is the next generation carbon fiber material in the bicycle industry based on using Spread Tows (yarns) instead of yarns to achieve ultra light weight and high-performance products. Companies utilizing the TeXtreme® Technology have achieved better properties on weight savings, stiffness, etc. compared to using only other carbon fiber materials.

Mario Comalli R&D Manager of Kemo Bikes says: “We are happy to have introduced Kemo to the world and the usage of TeXtreme® was a key to get the desired performance in our top model. We are satisfied that TeXtreme® has helped contribute to a good weight to stiffness performance improvement and additional aspect we value highly is that this is a technology that can be easily explained to the consumer market.”

Kemo Bikes are the latest project for the Comalli brothers that have over twenty years of experience in the bike industry and are known for their focus on innovation, style and design. Kemo have four technologies as the foundation for the bike range, and in the most high-performance model they have a fifth technology or key step; the TeXtreme® Technology. The Kemo product range is available online with delivery to a dealer or directly at home.

“We are glad to add another bike brand into the TeXtreme® user family alongside successful products that already have contributed to among others victories in recent years Tour de France races. Our goal is always to work together with the brand and provide them with a reinforcement solution that help them make the best possible product based on their needs, no matter if it is reducing weight, increasing stiffness, reducing layers in the manufacturing process or a mix of different needs”, says Andreas Martsman, VP – Marketing & Sales of Oxeon.

Alongside the bike industry current TeXtreme® users can be found in Formula 1, Americas Cup, golf shafts, surf boards, aircraft interiors, rowing boats,  skis, snowboards, ice hockey sticks, NASCAR and various industrial and advanced aerospace applications.

About Kemo Bikes
In 2001 carbon fiber frames marked with the letter K made their first appearance at the Milan trade fair at the Sintema Sport stand. It was a real business case, a courageous choice for the time and somewhat surprising for an engineering company which built frames with the slogan “Handmade Quality Frames”. Today, twelve years later, the Comalli brothers continue to replicate such courageous experience. The tradition continues and the real K comes alive in the brand new Kemo, which combines an exciting new challenge and a winning business model. Kemo products are engineered in Switzerland and the bikes are assembled in Italy using the most advanced production technologies.
