Johannesburg, 19 January 2026 – Discovery Insure launches Vitality Drive Advanced Driving Instructor, an AI-powered driving coach designed to help people improve their driving – one behaviour at a time.

Now available on the Discovery Insure app as an update, Advanced Driving Instructor analyses individual driving data to deliver hyper‑personalised feedback that helps Discovery Insure clients improve their driving habits, reduce accident risk and earn more rewards through the Vitality Drive programme.

ADI intuitively responds to each driver’s unique ‘driving signature’

Every driver’s behaviour is unique – shaped by their habits, decisions and routes. Two people may drive the same route, but experience entirely different levels of risk.

Harnessing AI alongside Discovery Insure’s proprietary algorithms and telematics data, Advanced Driving Instructor interprets each driver’s unique driving signature to deliver personalised, real-time guidance.

“One of Advanced Driving Instructor’s most intelligent innovations is its ability to issue location alerts – based on specific road segments where a driver consistently engages in risky behaviours, such as harsh braking or sharp cornering. Overall, Advanced Driving Instructor provides:

• Tailored driving tips: Personalised driving guidance based on each driver’s driving patterns and the unique goals Advanced Driving Instructor has set for them (including location-based alerts).
• Personalised goals: In addition to the weekly Vitality Drive ring, clients will have a new monthly Personal Driving ring to close by meeting the behavioural and location-based goals set for each driver. Through these personalised goals, drivers will know exactly which behaviours to improve on and where they frequently experience risky events (reducing their safety on the road and costing them Vitality Drive points).
  

Helping drivers set smarter goals, earn better rewards, and drive more safely

Advanced Driving Instructor also offers next-best-action goals to help clients engage more with the Vitality Drive programme and boost their rewards. These goals include reminding clients to visit a Tiger Wheel & Tyre to install their Vitality Drive sensor or swiping their Vitality Drive Card when filling up at bp and Shell garages to earn fuel rewards.

Drivers can earn up to 750 Ðiscovery Miles each month for completing Advanced Driving Instructor’s personalised driving goals – separate from Vitality Active rewards goals. And as they become better drivers, they earn Vitality Drive points and chart their course to a higher Vitality Drive status.
