Strong start to 2018 for Zound Industries

Following on from a record close to 2017, Zound Industries has seen continued strong sales during the first six months of 2018. Net sales grew by 27 percent to 740 M SEK, compared to 585 M SEK for the same period last year.

“To continue the success of 2017 is phenomenal. Our focus on building a solid foundation for future growth is paying off and we’re now looking forward to see what the second half of the year brings. We have great confidence in the company and in the team,” says Tommy Jacobson, Chairman of the Board at Zound Industries.

This year has seen several new product launches for Zound. Earlier in 2018 the company launched their first active noise cancelling headphones, the Marshall Mid ANC, as well as a new generation of the top-selling Marshall Major headphones. While Urbanears launched their in-ear Bluetooth headphones, the Jakan.

“Our product portfolio and our family of distinct brands really appeal to today’s consumer. The combination of these elements, together with our team and the functional platform we have created, are the driving forces behind our continuous growth,” comments Pernilla Ekman, CEO, Zound Industries.

The second half of the year will see further launches from Zound, including its range of voice-controlled wireless speakers using Amazon Alexa or Google Voice Assistant.

From a sales perspective, the final six months of the year are traditionally the strongest with events such as back-to-school, Singles Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas.

Zound Industries continues to work and make investments related to the new adidas partnership, with the first products scheduled to launch during the second half of 2019.
