Press release -

Aquatic Life Sciences and AkzoNobel sign new business agreement

AkzoNobel’s Pulp and Performance Chemicals business (formerly known as Eka Chemicals) has signed a business agreement to transfer ownership of the New Animal Drug Approval (NADA) sponsorship and trademarks for 35% PEROX-AID® to Aquatic Life Sciences.

Both companies are keen to grow the use of 35% PEROX-AID® in the aquaculture industry and, under the terms of the new deal, Aquatic Life Sciences will have exclusive rights to the trademark’s use.

The FDA registered drug is already used to promote fish health in the industry and the new agreement will enable them to focus on regional growth, applying their expertise in regulatory and application issues. AkzoNobel will continue to manufacture 35% PEROX-AID®.

“This agreement strengthens our relationship with Aquatic Life Sciences and provides us with another growing market for hydrogen peroxide based products,” said Malcolm Williamson, Vice President, Sales and Marketing North America for AkzoNobel Pulp and Performance Chemicals.

Added Steven J. Becker, CEO of Aquatic Life Sciences: “Aquaculture is now an accepted source of high quality food worldwide and maintaining the health of the fish is paramount. We have been successfully supporting this effort by providing a full range of safe and effective fish health products for over ten years.”
