ALBIS in Asia: capacity significantly expanded

Asia is one of the largest growing markets in the world, including the plastics sector. For this reason, ALBIS has had a presence in the region from very early on. We have been in Hong Kong since 1971 and in Guangzhou and Shanghai for over 10 years.

Five years after launching the first extrusion line, we now have tripled our production capacity in China to around 36,000 tons nominal capacity.

A vital step, as in the past few financial years we have recorded sales growth far in excess of market growth! We anticipate that this growing demand for our customer-specific plastic solutions will continue in the future.

The Asian market is currently transforming. The maxim "price is the critical purchasing factor" is no longer the only decision point, other criteria now play a role too. Consistent quality and individual, customized compound solutions are increasingly in demand. Ideal circumstances for us!

With the five extrusion lines that we now have, we can produce the entire range of technical ALBIS compounds for the Asian market. This complements the range of products that we distribute on behalf of our well-known, long-term partners, such as Covestro, Lanxess, Ineos Styrolution and LyondellBasell.

The complete range allows ALBIS PLASTIC's Asian customers to order all the products they need in one place in a sort of "one stop shop" - standard products as well as specialties of any type.

The fact that we produce a significant proportion of items on-site and locally is very important to many of our customers, particularly in these times of changing import barriers.

China is still our core market in Asia but we also supply neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Japan and India. We have various distribution sites across China and the surrounding region. We envisage excellent growth prospects in 2019, significantly higher than the market growth predicted for China as a whole. With our increased capacity and our complete setup, we feel we are well prepared in every way for the challenges of the Asian market!
