TPE forum: ALBIS promotes market relevance of TPE

Although thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) are used in a variety of applications, not everyone is aware of the full range of properties the material offers. This was the impetus behind the 2016 creation of the "TPE Forum", a new special-interest group.

The TPE Forum is a coalition of leading international manufacturers in the TPE field, and enjoys broad-based support from raw-materials producers, processors, compounders, equipment manufacturers, research institutes, and universities.

Since thermoplastic elastomers are not yet perceived on the market as an independent class of materials, the Forum's primary goals include establishing this group of materials as its own materials class, creating corresponding standards, and supporting users and processors as effectively as possible in using TPE. The Forum also intends to promote transparency regarding the properties of and differences among TPE materials, to develop material-appropriate standards and guidelines, and to establish TPE-specific training programs and professional events. 

As a systems provider, ALBIS PLASTIC GmbH offers a broad portfolio of market-relevant TPE materials, including its own brand ALFATER^XL® (TPV) and its distribution brands Desmopan® (TPU), Texin® (Medical TPU), Evoprene® (TPS), Solplast® (TPS), and Sipolprene® (TPC). We are especially active in the standardization of thermoplastic vulcanisates (TPV) working group, which we have assumed responsibility for coordinating.
