Press release -

TRELLCHEM® LEVEL A GASTIGHT SUITS PASS THE PYROMAN (TM) TEST

Ansell Protective Solutions proudly announces that both the Trellchem EVO and Trellchem VPS-Flash gastight chemical protective suits pass the very tough PyroManTM test with no afterflame and no burn injuries!

The PyroManTM test is normally used for testing fire fighters’ clothing and is performed using a mannequin which is dressed with the clothing to be tested. A flash fire is produced for a defined number of seconds and sensors on the mannequin measure the temperature on the “skin”, which is then calculated into a predicted burn injury level. Also, the afterflame time of the clothing is measured.

Both the Trellchem EVO and the Trellchem VPS-Flash suits were tested, with ordinary station wear underneath, using a flash fire of 4 seconds and the outstanding result, for both suits, is no after flame and no burn injuries! The main purpose of a chemical protective suit is to protect against hazardous chemical substances but this type of work environment also frequently produces a risk of encountering flammable liquids as well as explosive atmospheres. It is therefore important to wear a suit that has been tested and approved according to the toughest standards is important.

Trellchem EVO and Trellchem VPS-Flash are both made from U.S. Patented suit materials which are based on highly flame retardant aramid fabric coated with abrasion and chemical resistant rubber and a multilayer chemical barrier film, all together providing more than 8 hours permeation time against a wide variety of hazardous chemicals along with flash fire protection and protection against liquefied gases, radioactive particles and biohazards.

Trellchem EVO and Trellchem VPS-Flash are both certified to the toughest and most stringent standards in the world within the segment of Chemical Protective Clothing (CPC), such as NFPA 1991 (including the optional Flash Fire and Liquefied gas protection requirements), EN 943-2/ET, EN 943-1, EN 1073-2 (Protection against radioactive particles) and EN 14126 (Protection against Infective agents).

The Trellchem product range is based on highly innovative rubber based materials resulting from more than 100 years of rubber technology experience. These new test results once again show the outstanding performance of the Trellchem suits and confirm the high standards and innovation level of the Trellchem materials.
