Benify and Athlon Introduce an Enhanced Mobility Solution in Germany
Stockholm, April 24, 2017 — HR-tech company Benify and mobility provider Athlon launch a new mobility proposition in Germany called My Benefit Kit. The solution allows employees to manage their transportation benefit according to their personal needs and preferences while also remaining cost- and environmentally- conscious.
According to observations of behavioral patterns, many employees use their mobility benefit to lease vehicles that can be described as being more than what they actually need. That is, high-powered vehicles with special equipment are often leased, and this drives up the overall costs of the vehicle fleet offered to the employees by the employer. Working together, Benify and Athlon found a market opportunity to present an improved benefit design and a flexible way to manage the budget, resulting in a win for both the employer and the employee.
Incentives Encourage Savings and Improve Work-Life Balance
Athlon now provides incentives for efficient vehicle equipment so that those employees who are more economical in selecting their company car can use the remaining budget differently. Employees may, for example put the savings towards a bicycle, a new smartphone, or other offers that improve their work-life balance--and these decisions can be implemented through the smart technology portal offered by Benify.
“The flexibility puts an end to waste and actually becomes more useful for the employee,” says Markus Kullendorf, CEO of Benify. “This new design takes a popular benefit and infuses it with the flexibility that we have come to learn employees really want. For example, if an employee lives close to work, he or she may want to apply any unused mobility budget towards a bicycle or even train tickets.”
Modernizing the Mobility Benefit, Improving Employer Branding

The Athlon My Benefit Kit is available through the Benify compensation and benefits portal to employers and their employees in Germany. The mobility solution has already been introduced in the Netherlands, as the Athlon Mobility Budget.
