Major winners Cloud9 join BLAST Pro Series, Istanbul

In September, world-class Counter-Strike is coming to Istanbul: BLAST Pro Series (originally scheduled for June 24th but moved to late September due to the presidential snap election), which has already presented a line-up with some of the biggest names of the game. Now the US-based Major winners Cloud9 have confirmed they will participate in this historic live event.

Cloud9 star player, Turkish American Tarik ”tarik” Celik is thrilled to play a major tournament on Turkish ground for the first time ever:

- Winning the Major was the biggest thing in my life, but playing live on the iconic BLAST stage in Turkey and , battling some of the best teams in the world in the home country of my parents and family will be an amazing experience. We will do everything we can to make the fans proud, the Cloud9 star player promises.

- It is amazing to see a spectacular tournament like BLAST Pro Series happening in Istanbul and I am so excited to bring my teammates to Istanbul and Turkey to show them around and introduce them to the amazing people there, tarik comments and continues:

New international top team to be announced later

Cloud9 will join the World’s current number 1 team Astralis, as well as legendary teams NiP and Virtus.pro and the local heroes Space Soldiers. The 6th team will be a brand new international top team with a yet-to-be-announced line-up of star players. The team name and players will be announced separately.


The tournament will be played on 28-29th September with the decisive groups stage matches and Grand Finals played live in Ülker Sports Arena on 29th September. Tickets for the arena event on 29th September are available via www.Mobilet.com.

BLAST Pro Series is the most exciting new edition to the esports scene. In a new electrifying format, 6 of the best Counter-Strike teams in the world will play live on stage in front of a packed arena and millions watching online.The tournament was launched in Copenhagen in 2017 and the circuit will take the tournament to major cities around the world over the coming years.

The event will be broadcast live globally to an audience of an estimated 275 million households. The first event in Copenhagen broke a number of viewership records for Danish national TV, DR3 and with a total of 5 million viewers, including over 2.5 million on Twitch, and a social media reach of more than 60 million, BLAST Pro Series is the most exciting new, international esports tournament.

The event is created with the sole purpose of making the best possible live experience in esports and competitive entertainment and since the launch in Copenhagen in November 2017 the tournament has been setting the standards for the esports scene.
