BODUM introduces the ePEBO vacuum coffee machine.

In the USA the brewing method is termed “Siphon” and right now it is literally “hot” if you want the best brewed cup of black coffee. Now BODUM is introducing ePEBO. Its predecessor was BODUM’s very own Santos.

Now BODUM is introducing ePEBO. Its predecessor was BODUM’s very own Santos. Introduced in the 50s by the Founder Peter Bodum. In the USA the brewing method is termed “Siphon” and it is right now literally “hot”, if you want the best brewed cup of black coffee. Now BODUM is introducing e.Pebo. Its predecessor was BODUM’s very own Santos. Introduced in the 50s by the Founder Peter Bodum. A revolutionary idea, which still holds water. When Santos was launched on the market, it was revolutionary at its time. Not just because of its unique brewing method, which generated an aromatic and tasty coffee in record time. But also due to its patented filter. It was an integrated part of the coffee machine, so there was no need for either cotton or paper filters. A lot of coffee has passed through since then, but the filter is still the same in the e.PEBO. Even then you could say, as we do today, ”Make taste. Not waste".

e.PEBO. The news which carries the legacy one more step upward. The PEBO vacuum coffee machine is the modern version of Santos, and it has been a part of the BODUM line for a long time. e.PEBO is a further development in that you no longer need an external heat source. e.PEBO allows you to brew your coffee anywhere close to a power outlet. The supreme way of getting a cup of boiling hot black coffee. The vacuum brewing method allows all the precious oils from the coffee to be extracted with the ideal balance between temperature and brewing time. The vacuum created during the brewing seals the flavours so you get full use of the good coffee beans. And it looks great when e.PEBO is brewing. Dramatic and a little bit of science each time.

e.PEBO is made of materials, taking both safety and practical aspects into consideration. The heating plate is secured so it is steady, and after the brewing it may be cleaned just using warm water. The integrated filter allows all the coffee flavours to be pulled into the pot without letting any coffee grounds into the cup. From the soul of slow coffee. Since the very beginning, coffee has been BODUM’s big passion. The development has been fast, but sufficient time is still the soul of everything BODUM stands for. The brewing itself on the e.PEBO takes place with great respect for the optimal duration of vacuum coffee brewing. Just like a good brew using the French press, it takes 4 minutes. To this you have to add the time e.PEBO takes heating the water to the optimal brewing temperature of 94 centigrades and for the vacuum to generate.

The history of BODUM.

BODUM’s history goes back to 1944 when Britta and Peter Bodum founded the company in Copenhagen. Today, it is their son Jørgen Bodum as CEO, who along with his sister Pia Bodum, ensures that the BODUM Group continues to be a 100% family owned business. The mission of BODUM is still what it was at the onset: Good design should be affordable for most people.
