Cavidi supports Diagnostics Access Initiative

Cavidi strongly supports the Diagnostics Access Initiative (DAI) recently launched by UNAIDS and ASLM. The initiative aims to achieve a 90-90-90 target – 90% of all people living with HIV know their HIV status, 90% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection receive sustained antiretroviral therapy and 90% of all people receiving antiretroviral therapy have achieved durable viral suppression. The initiative therefore covers the three vital areas for effective treatment, accurate diagnosis, access to antiretroviral drugs and regular viral load testing.

"We think this is an excellent initiative as it links viral suppression to initial diagnosis and treatment, and we as a specialized supplier of viral load testing stand ready to provide support to the program" says Fabio Baglioni Cavidi's VP Global Sales and Marketing. Cavidi participated in pre-launch meetings in Geneva and at the launch in Melbourne and will continue to participate as the initiative gathers pace.

Partners in the initiative include UNAIDS, the World Health Organization (WHO), the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), UNICEF, the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM)
