Cavidi to support PIH viral load program in Haiti

Partners in Health (PIH) will begin a new viral load testing program in Haiti with the support of Load Zero Foundation (LZF) and Cavidi. The program will begin at the PIH L’Hopital Saint Nicolas (HSN) in Haiti. Cavidi will be helping to train PIH staff and will supply the test assay necessary for the program. PIH will administer the test program and use the test to better treat patients and improve the lives of those living with HIV.

“Cavidi is happy to support this program in Haiti which should provide access to viral load testing for people in desperate need” says John Reisky de Dubnic CEO of Cavidi.

PIH works in 10 countries around the world to provide quality health care to people and communities devastated by joint burdens of poverty and disease. PIH and its Haitian partner organization, Zanmi Lasante, have been providing vital health care services in Haiti for more than 25 years and are the largest health care providers in the country, working with the Haitian Ministry of Health.

This program is being supported and funded by LZF a philanthropic organization dedicated to funding low cost viral load testing for millions of HIV patients.

Because viral load testing has traditionally required expensive equipment and access to modern infrastructure, it has not been accessible to the majority of HIV+ population. LZF is making a high-quality low-cost viral load test available to PIH and this will result in a reduction of unnecessary loss of life and human suffering. LZF aims to lower the cost of care and loss of productivity in parts of the world that need help most.
