​John Mills Chairman Emeritus of Cavidi awarded Australian honour

Congratulations to Chairman Emeritus, Professor John Mills who has received an Officer in the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to medicine as a researcher and physician in the field of infectious diseases, particularly HIV and AIDS, to medical administration, and to the development of Australia’s biotechnology industry.

John was Chairman of Cavidi from 2006 to 2012. He was also the Managing Director of the Burnet Institute, Melbourne Australia from 1992 to 2002, and during that time oversaw the development of an International Health Unit and the founding of AAMRI, the Association of Australian Medical Research Institutes, the peak body representing medical research institutes and now including over 40 members.

John is an influential member of Cavidi’s Scientific Advisory Committee where he provides guidance on how Cavidi can apply RT-technology as an important complement to NAT methods in the fight against HIV.
