Chr. Hansen Keynote Speaker at International Health Congress
When the LMC International Food Congress 2006 puts focus on Nutrigenomics and Health, Chr. Hansen will be present both as sponsor and as keynote speaker. The congress takes place in Denmark on March 15-16, 2006.
With the current focus on life style, obesity, diet and health in modern-day life, nutrigenomics does not only offer new opportunities to the food industry, but can also make a significant contribution to a healthy diet which eventually would help prevent the development of life style diseases.
This is the theme at the LMC International Food Congress 2006: Nutrigenomics and Health ? from Vision to Food which will take place at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (KVL) in Denmark on March 15-16, 2006.

Nutrigenomics and consumer health
Research within the field of nutrigenomics is multidisciplinary and demands the involvements of several disciplines. Presentations on day one of the congress will explore topics within the field of "Nutrigenomics, Markers and Health". The programme on day two will address topics within the field of "Nutrigenomics and New Food".
The plenary sessions will comprise keynote lectures given by internationally respected scien-tists who have been invited to present current and future research. Topics to be addressed will include nutrigenomics and the obesity problem, bioinformatics, the industry's expectations to nutrigenomics in relation to consumer health, system biology in nutrition and medicine, vi-sions for nutrigenomics, and pertinent ethical aspects.
Chr. Hansen keynote speaker
Chr. Hansen's head of Corporate Research, Peter Olesen, PhD is keynote speaker and will give a talk on nutrigenomics and health. Moreover, Eric Johansen, PhD, Vice President at Chr. Hansen and responsible for Molecular Microbiology has been appointed chairman for a session entitled Future food for health, which will feature talks by five industry experts as well as an introduction by Johansen himself.
Also keynote speakers from The Netherlands, UK, Canada, US and Hong Kong will partici-pate at the congress.
