Chr. Hansen's blending plant receives AFIA's Safe Feed/Safe Food certification

Chr. Hansen's blending plant in New Berlin, Wisconsin, has received the Safe Feed/Safe Food Certification from the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA).

The Safe Feed/Safe Food program is an initiative of the AFIA to enlist the feed industry and its suppliers in applying standards to ensure safe feed products are manufactured for livestock in the United States.

Chr. Hansen, a global leader in feed and food ingredients, blends and packages its direct fed microbials (DFMs), yeast products, and forage inoculants at the New Berlin facility for customers throughout North America and the world. These products include BioPlus 2B®, which has final EU approval and registration for use in all phases of swine, and the Biomax® product line of water soluble and dry forage inoculants, as well as Probios® TC, the rumen management tool for transition dairy cows.

Food Safety

The Safe Feed/Safe Food Certification Program was created to demonstrate and ensure continuous improvement in the safe and wholesome feed supply for animals. According to AFIA, it is intended for proactive companies interested in demonstrating their commitment to food safety and enhancing consumer confidence in the products they provide.

Participating companies include feed and pet food manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, integrators, meat processors, feed purchasers, and livestock producers. To learn more about AFIA's Safe Feed Safe Food program, visit ###LINK OPEN###http://www.afia.org/>www.afia.org###LINK CLOSE###.
