South Africa: Ministerial Visit to Energy Efficiency Project in South African Township

Danish support resulting in solar water heating improving living conditions in South African township

The Danish minister for Climate Energy and Buildings, Rasmus Helveg Petersen, visited the project in the Joe Slovo area of the township Langa in Cape Town. Denmark supports the project to be equipped with solar water heating systems.

The Danish minister visited the project  ”N2 Gateway - Energy Efficiency Project in Low Income Housing” in the township Langa located in Cape Town together with Mr Thabane Zulu, Director General, Department of Human Settlements.

The Danish minister met with the South African Minister for Human Settlements, Ms. Lindiwe Sisulu and they discussed potential for energy efficiency solutions particular in relation to buildings.
