Mynewsdesk Robotwars

Yesterday, the otherwise tranquil working environment turned bloody when we organized a competitive tournament in the form of a Robotwars.

Robotwars is a programming game where participants program a robot to do battle against other robots in an arena. The robots themselves don't have direct knowledge of the location, velocity or heading of other combatants, but can use a radar pulse to find degree and distance.

Our Leipzig development team joined us for this event and we wrote the robots in pairs during a two hour session. Afterwards we let them battle it out in a tournament to see which robot would be victorious.

After a gruesome tournament and a 2-0 win in the final, the winner was Pong, written by David Backeus and Emil Löfquist.
