Nyhed   •   Feb 26, 2019 17:08 CET

The food security and nutrition situation in Terekeka state has been deteriorating in recent months of June-December 2018 due to outbreak of conflict and dry spell resulted to poor production. Terekeka has only one agriculture season in a year, disruption of markets, rapid rise in price, crop disease and natural climate change whole over the state, this is made situation worse with the ongoing macroeconomic crisis including the rapid depreciation of the South Sudan pound, hyper-inflation and the huge surge in food price.

Due to the absence of humanitarian assistance 6 former Payams of Terekeka County particular Tali, Tindilo, Reggo,Rejong and Nyori plus Tijor Payam made the situation of IDPs worsening because of continuation of inter-communal conflict over cattle and the movement of Rebel army along the farming areasparticular Tijor, Tali and Rijong areas.

The situation has worsened due to this long dry spell which indicate big hunger gap in 2019.
