MultiQ awarded contract in Skånetrafiken’s Infotainment procurement

The procurement includes digital displays and infotainment for public transport and public sector operations in Region Skåne. The contract was awarded to MultiQ today, which means that contract negotiations will begin. The procurement is worth SEK 54 million over a period of 6 years. The procurement involves the installation of digital displays in around 700 buses, 200 public places and customer service centres, trains and stops.

Skånetrafiken’s vision is for public transport to be the natural choice when Skåne residents travel. An attractive offer is required to entice more people to use public transport and break ingrained habits. Communication, for example digital displays, helps make a journey a success. The information provided makes things easy, gives peace of mind and offers a wider range of options during the journey.

Passengers can get transport information in real time about stops, connections and disruption. The displays also provide entertainment in the form of travel tips, offers, news and the weather.

“We are incredibly pleased about and proud of the result of this procurement. We are continuing to consolidate our position as the leader in solutions for digital communication on public transport. We look forward to accompanying Skånetrafiken on its digital journey into the future,” says Lars Pålsson, acting CEO of MultiQ.

MultiQ has worked with Skånetrafiken for many years. It is the regional public transport administration in the far south of Sweden. Our solutions are installed on the Pågatågen rail service, in Citytunnel stations and on the MalmöExpressen and SkåneExpressen bus services. Public transport in the Nordic region is currently undergoing a process of digitization with the focus on customers’ individual travel experience. The public transport system in Iceland recently decided to invest in a new IT solution from MultiQ. Copenhagen’s new 5C bus route was opened last year, the busiest bus route in the Nordic region. It also has infotainment and a complete IT solution with communication between drivers and the transport management team.
