The first acts on the poster for NorthSide 2013 are Arctic Monkeys, Band of Horses, The Flaming Lips, Nephew and Trentemøller
In September NorthSide sold 3.000 tickets in one week without having announced a single act for next year's festival. It was a vote of confidence that was palpable and as a thank you for the confidence NorthSide now releases five major acts for next year’s bill.
Arctic Monkeys have enjoyed great success since the debut album from 2006, and in just a few years they have evolved into one of Britain's biggest rock acts. It is therefore no surprise that this energetic and engaging band is among the most wanted bands for NorthSide, and it is a great pleasure now to be able to fulfill that wish.
Arctic Monkeys will play NorthSide Sunday 16/6.
When Band of Horses played NorthSide in 2011 the entire festival broke into song during songs like "Is There a Ghost" and "No One's Gonna Love You" from breakthrough album "Cease To Begin". The band subsequently expressed a desire to return to NorthSide, so it is with great pleasure that we once again welcome Ben Bridwell and the rest of the band to NorthSide to provide yet another terrific concert.
Band of Horses will play NorthSide Sunday 16/6.
You won’t find a better combination of great music and an exceptional show than with The Flaming Lips, who since the mid-'80s has evolved from obscure indie band to international superstars responsible for classic albums like "The Soft Bulletin" and "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" and legendary shows, which include aliens, monsters, Santa Claus, balloons, and more confetti than you could possibly imagine. So start getting excited, because The Flaming Lips are the best party around, and we are proud to present them at NorthSide.
The Flaming Lips will play NorthSide Saturday 15/6.
The headliner of the first edition of NorthSide was Danish act Nephew, and now the country's biggest rock act is back to once again thrill the audience as only they can. Few Danish bands have as many hits as Nephew and streak continues with the current album "Hjertestarter", containing songs such as "Klokken 25" and the album's title track, which is going to sound amazing at NorthSide next summer.
Nephew will play NorthSide Friday 14/6.
There are not many Danish musicians who have achieved the same international respect as Trentemøller. With his band he has played a wide range of major festivals around the world, so it's something special for the first time to be able to present the popular and critically acclaimed producer and musician at NorthSide for one of his very rare shows on Danish soil.
Trentemøller will play NorthSide Saturday 15/6.
