Cologne / Germany, September 1, 2016 - In 2016 dmexco will expand its conference area through the addition of two new stages: the Experience Hall and the Motion Hall. In the program of the dmexco Experience Hall, the future will meet business. This is where visionaries and pioneers of global digital business will present their initial practical experiences with the new communication opportunities generated by future-oriented technologies such as the Internet of Things, wearables, artificial intelligence, and virtual and augmented reality. A number of speakers will reveal the kind of potential that artificial intelligence could develop for the whole marketing industry. Two of these speakers will be Bob Lord and Michael Rhodin (both from IBM), who will present an eagerly anticipated live demo featuring what is probably the best-known cognitive system, IBM Watson. Dirk Arnold (BMW) and Georg R. Roetzer (Samsung) will take a look at the future of the connected car in their session titled “The Future of Consumer Communication — Driving into a Connected World”. David Klemm (Mastercard) and Martin Wild (Media-Saturn) will demonstrate how digital solutions in the form of robotics can enliven stationary business in the retail sector. Their live demo will feature the service robot Paul, who will answer questions put to him by visitors.

From virtual reality to commercial drones
In the Experience Hall, Matthew Luhn (Pixar) will talk about the growing influence of data on successful storytelling, and David Shing (AOL) will analyze the new role of content in advertising. Another highlight will be the session headed by Dr. Kimo Quaintance (IQGemini), in which he will make customer experiences in virtual reality impressively visible, not only for individual users but for all dmexco visitors. And at the session titled “When Business Flies” in the Experience Hall, visitors will be able to see a completely new type of drone that generally rolls along and only flies if it has to overcome an obstacle. All of the VR and drone sessions in the Experience Hall will be directly extended into dmexco's World of Experience and its VR and drone area.

New concepts and technologies for videos and moving images
In the high-caliber program of the new Motion Hall, 12 leading media brands will present exclusive screenings in which they show how videos and moving images are driving the business operations of the global digital economy. The new Motion Hall, which can accommodate about 700 spectators, will be focusing on successful content concepts, innovative formats, and new video platforms from Bloomberg Media, NBCUniversal, VICE, and RTL II. Facebook and Twitter will present the innovative potential of live videos in brand communication on the 23-meter-wide screening wall. Studio 71, the RTL Group, and Maker Studios will showcase the platforms and devices for the use of online videos in the areas of influencer marketing, native advertising, and branded entertainment.

Digital transformation in traditional broadcasting
Even moving images won’t work without stories that arouse viewers’ enthusiasm. In their exclusive presentations, AOL and Vox Media will offer a compact overview of the right strategies and best practices in the area of video storytelling for content marketing. More and more TV broadcasters are realizing that digital video communication has long ago evolved beyond traditional TV formats and now has access to all kinds of screens.
